Grown under the warm Western Australian sun and cooled by local sea breezes, the Amberley vineyards produce fruit with vibrant, attractive fruit flavours expressed through our wines.
The 2012 growing season began with a wet winter and continued into an ideal burst of the vines in spring. There was little rain during the growing season and therefore yields were down a little. Summer temperatures were warm but not excessive, which provided excellent ripening conditions in the lead up to harvest. The grapes were crushed, chilled and gently pressed to retain bright fruit flavours. Fermentation in tank at cool temperatures has enhanced the varietal characters of this wine. Further maturation on lees and French oak has built texture and complexity before final blending prior to packaging.
Brilliant, pale straw in colour, this wine shows intense, fresh fruit characters of peach, lemon and lime with hints of cashew nuts, nougat and toasty vanillin oak add to the flavoursome aromas. The palate is fresh and full of flavour, displaying citrus, peach and nectarine characters complimented by nuances of French oak. Vibrant acidity delivers a wine of softness with excellent length and balance.
Best enjoyed served with fresh seafood, chicken or pasta dishes.
